Ingredients
For the Mulled Gin
- 700ml premium gin
- 250ml cloudy apple juice
- 100ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 star anise
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 tbsp honey
- Pinch of Isle of Skye sea salt
- Optional: 2 tbsp brandy
For Garnish
- Orange slices
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Cinnamon stick per glass
Directions
Prepare the Spices
In a large heavy-bottomed pan, combine apple and orange juices
- Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise
- Warm gently over low heat – do not boil
Infuse the Flavours
Add honey and a delicate pinch of Isle of Skye sea salt
- Stir until honey dissolves completely
- Allow spices to infuse for 10 minutes
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly
Add the Gin
Pour in gin and optional brandy
- Gently reheat – ensure mixture does not boil
- Stir to combine flavours
- Add orange slices to the pan
Serve
Strain into heat-proof glasses
- Garnish with fresh orange slice and rosemary sprig
- Add a cinnamon stick to each glass
