We are passing on the baton of our much loved Sea Salt Company to new owners. We are feeling emotional. However, after 13 years of tremendously hard work, and knowing that we are getting on a bit, we decided recently that our business needed to be passed on to others to take it forward.
We leave feeling enormous satisfaction in having :
- created a pure natural sea salt business in the most sustainable way, underpinned by our own beliefs and values
- kick started the renaissance of the Scottish Sea Salt industry
- inspired other entrepreneurs across the UK to have a go
- followed Schumacher's theory of 'small is beautiful' and go slow
- a clear focus on natural process using the sun, the sea and the wind
- having been a part of and contributing to the success of the Scottish Food and Drink Industry
We followed our passion. We created a sustainable business. We won multiple top Awards. We leave winning another Award. We regularly featured in TV programmes and the media.
We have collaborated with so many lovely talented people and businesses along the way. We came with a river of creative professional experience. We worked very, very hard for 13 years to make our dream a reality. We laughed....and sometimes we cried.
We could not have done any of the above without working with wonderful, creative, supportive people and organisations along the way, too many to name, to whom we shout out a HUGE Thank you!
But most of all we could not have survived without YOU, our amazing customers and your fantastic support and commitment and amazing comments. From top chefs, to collaborators, to all our customers we send the MOST heartfelt THANKS for supporting us.
So, who is taking over the business you ask?
The new owners are a wonderful family. They fully share our ethos about our sea salt. They love the Highlands having travelled here for years. They have great ideas about the future. They are................but no, we will let them tell you about themselves so much more in future Posts! We wish them the BEST of luck and every possible success as they take The Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company on the next stage of its development.
